Roommates, social media are in a frenzy after a 16-year-old girl was kidnapped on the street right in front of her terrified mother. Authorities are looking for the men responsible, and a video of the shocking incident has surfaced online.
According to the New York Daily News, Karol Sanchez was walking down a Bronx street last night when a beige four-door sedan stopped next to her and her mother. Four men were reportedly in the van, two of whom pushed his mother to the ground and threw Karol into the van.
The shocking incident would have taken approximately 10 seconds, and it is not clear if there were witnesses at the scene. Karol’s mother was not injured, but was unable to save her daughter because the van rushed very quickly.
Investigators have reportedly concluded that Karol does not know her kidnappers, and the NYPD has issued an Amber alert to locate her.
However, other parents in the neighborhood expressed great concern following the incident in the Bronx.
“I always take her to school and come to pick her up,” said Joy Bates, a local mother. “Hopefully nothing like it … I could also be kidnapped.”
Even the children of the neighborhood are afraid and listen to the warnings of the adults around them.
“My cousin said to me, ‘Don’t say a word. Do not walk near a sidewalk. Watch out for pickup trucks that look suspicious, ”said 11-year-old Paige Innis.
The men wanted for questioning in the case are described as four adult men in their twenties with a dark complexion. All the men wore dark clothes.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
