Bank of England Governor: We don’t rule out a 50 basis point rate hike next month

Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey said he would not rule out a rate hike of half a percentage point next month.

Bailey added that central banks have a chance to move in more aggressive way to contain inflation.

He pointed out that raising half a percentage point is on the table if circumstances arise that require you to do more, but wondered: why do you assume this is the only thing on the table?

Bailey noted that money markets are pricing in higher interest rates.
