Barack Obama reveals his 2019 favorite TV shows and movies

As the year draws to a close, former President Barack Obama decided it was the perfect time to share the pop culture that made his 2019 a little brighter with his Twitter followers. Last weekend, he revealed his list of favorite television shows, movies, music and books from the past twelve months, and some of the celebrities who got their work recognized by the old POTUS couldn’t tell. believe.

Then the 58-year-old shared his favorite films from last year, including The Irishman by Martin Scorcese, Ford v. Ferrari with Christian Bale and Matt Damon, Little Women by Greta Gerwig, Just Mercy with Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx, Director Olivia Wilde’s Booksmart and Marriage Story with Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson.

Obama has also listed three TV shows he considered “as powerful as a movie” – Fleabag, Unbelievable and Watchmen.

After seeing that the former president mentioned his film, Wilde wrote “OH MY GOD” on Twitter with a GIF from Booksmart star Beanie Feldstein. The official Fleabag account wrote that they could not ask for higher praise than Obama’s recommendation.

Obama also mentioned his new documentary Netflix American Factory which he produced with his wife Michelle Obama through their company Higher Ground. Obama said the film was recently selected for an Oscar.

On Monday, the former president revealed his favorite music from last year, including Juice by Lizzo, Suge by Dababy, Old Town Road Remix by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, In My Room by Frank Ocean, Not by Big Thief , Hello Sunshine by Bruce Springsteen and Summer Walker Games.

“From hip-hop to country to The Boss, here are my songs of the year,” wrote legendary Obama. “If you are looking for something to keep you company on a long drive or to help you organize a workout, I hope there is a trail or two here that will do the trick.”
