Barcelona face Manchester United in Europa League

Berlin: Barcelona’s Spanish football team take on Manchester United’s English side in the European League play-offs in looking for a place in the second round. The Spanish team was eliminated from the Champions League and finished third in the group stage after a bad campaign. Meanwhile, Manchester United finished second in their Europa League group, behind Real Sociedad. Juventus, another giant of the Champions League, will meet the French Nantes, according to today’s draw, Monday. German teams Union Berlin and Bayer Leverkusen will meet Ajax of the Netherlands and Monaco of France respectively. In the rest of the matches, Sporting Lisbon meet Denmark’s Maitland, Shakhtar Donetsk with Rennes, Sevilla with PSV Eindhoven and Red Bull Salzburg with Roma. The first legs will be played on February 16, while the second legs will be played on February 23. The system of play-off it started in European League last season. The eight teams, who finished second in their Europa League group, face third-placed teams in the Champions League group stage.
