The Iraqi news agency quoted an official from the state-owned Basra Oil Company as saying today Sunday that the third pipeline in the southern oil port of Khor al-Amaya will be operational by the end of the year. 2023, with a capacity of 600,000 barrels per day.
Khor al-Amaya is located on the bay near the much larger port of Basra which has many moorings and mooring points.
Exports from Iraq, which is the second largest oil exporter in the OPEC Organization, amount to about 3.5 million barrels per day and its financial imports account for 90% of the budget of the country.
