Bayonetta and Vanquish 4K Remaster for Xbox One, PS4

PlatinumGames’ Bayonetta and Vanquish are being redesigned after a number of Microsoft game lists. The two action games, originally released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, will be re-released for Xbox One (and probably PlayStation 4) with support for 4K resolution and 60 frames per second graphics.

The two games will also be available as a 10-year anniversary bundle, according to the Microsoft website. Both remasters and the Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle will be released on February 18, 2020.

Sega has not officially announced the remasters, but the publisher has previously re-released both games via Steam on their PC.

Bayonetta, directed by Hideki Kamiya, was originally released in October 2009 in Japan and came to North America and Europe in January 2010. Later it was ported to Wii U, Windows PC and Nintendo Switch. Bayonetta tells the story of a Umbra witch who “emerges asleep after half a millennium with no memory of her mysterious past” and uses an arsenal of weapons – including her magical hair – to defeat her enemies.

Vanquish, directed by Shinji Mikami, was released worldwide in October 2010. The game for PS3 and Xbox 360 was later ported to a Windows PC. The third-person sci-fi shooter plays in a space colony called Providence, which has been overtaken by enemy forces. As DARPA agent Sam Gideon, the players infiltrate Providence with the BLADE, a suit powered by the conversion of weapons.
