Fans will have the opportunity to catch up with Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Mary-Jane Watson as the narrative will take place before the events of the highly anticipated superhero blockbuster movie. Certain aspects of the story are hinted at in a post on the official PlayStation Blog. These aspects include Peter adjusting to the fact that New York now has two Spider-Men in the wake of the events of the previous game, Mile’s senior year of high school, and MJ’s career as a journalist.

In the prequel comic, the trio will be up against a Marvel supervillain with less name recognition known as the Hood, who possesses what appears to be the capacity to cast spells. Christos Gage, who previously collaborated with Insomiac on Marvel’s Spider-Man and whose work was illustrated by Ig Guara, will be in charge of the primary writing tasks.

Alongside the unveiling of the prequel comic was an announcement that the remastered version of Marvel’s Spider-Man will be available for purchase on PS5 later this month as a stand-alone title. Until recently, players could only obtain access to the game by purchasing Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition.

Those who have already purchased the game on the PS4 platform will be able to upgrade to the remastered version for a fee of ten dollars. There is also no change to the availability of the option to upgrade Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales to the game’s Ultimate Edition. If neither of these options is available, then players will be forced to shell out the pricey sum of $49.99 in order to access the remastered version of the game.

It appears like Insomniac is getting ready for a major promotional push for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is scheduled to be released this fall. As part of this drive, a new gameplay trailer might be made available in the upcoming months. In light of what Tony Todd, who plays Venom, has said, we are estimating that the game will launch around the month of September.
