According to the joint decision of the Council of Ministers and the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus dated November 21, the country will make payments on the loan to the US Commodity Credit Corporation in Belarusian rubles.
And in the Decree No. 25/801 published today, on Tuesday, the following was added: “As an annex to the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus and the National Bank of April 6, 2022 No. 212/10 “On temporary measures to fulfill the debt obligations of foreign states”, it is added next: Commodity Credit Corporation (United States American).
The updated version of the list contains four organizations to which Belarus pays loans in Belarusian rubles: in addition to the mentioned American company, these are the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Northern Investment Bank and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. .
The Belarusian government had previously introduced this payment system “due to the unfriendly actions of foreign creditors.”
