Blackout alarm in Lebanon in late September

Today, Thursday, the Electrité du Liban (EDL) warned that the electricity would be cut in all parts of the country by the end of September, as its fuel stocks have dwindled.

The company stated in a claim that it can generate less than 500 megawatts of electricity using the resulting fuel oil in under an exchange agreement with Iraq.

Massive fuel shortages have caused the state to be unable to provide significant electricity supplies in recent months, while many Lebanese relied on private generators.
