Blizzard Entertainment Appoints Chris Metzen as Warcraft Executive Creative Director
Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Chris Metzen, a company veteran, has been appointed as the Executive Creative Director of Warcraft. Metzen was one of the original team members who worked on the Warcraft universe when it started in 1994. After a 23-year tenure at the company, he retired in 2016 but rejoined as a creative advisor for Warcraft last year.
Blizzard expressed their excitement about Metzen’s new role, stating, “We are thrilled to share that Chris Metzen has taken on a full-time role as Executive Creative Director of the Warcraft universe. Currently, his main focus is supporting our World of Warcraft leadership in crafting the next generation of adventures. Chris played a pivotal role in developing the foundations of the Warcraft universe, and we are excited to have him back to shape what’s to come. He and the team will be sharing our latest work at BlizzCon. We hope to see you there!”
“It’s been amazing working on Warcraft again. Like coming home. The stories we’re developing right now – how the world unfolds over the next few years… Well, I can’t wait for y’all to see where we’re headed. SOON… :)”
