Bloomberg: Elon Musk tells lending banks he intends to complete the Twitter purchase on Friday

Billionaire Elon Musk has pledged to close his $ 44 billion Twitter purchase by next Friday, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The report stated that Musk had made this commitment in a videoconference with the bankers who helped finance the deal.

The sources said the banks, which will provide $ 13 billion as part of the financing of the deal, have finalized the credit agreement and are in about to sign the deal, one of the last steps before the money is actually transferred to Elon Musk.

Bloomberg previously reported that Wall Street lenders, led by Morgan Stanley, had already been preparing in recent weeks to fund the deal. But nothing is ever certain with Elon Musk, the “mercurial” billionaire who just a few weeks ago was trying to pull out of the deal.

These latest developments indicate that it is in the final stages of closing the deal by the October 28 court deadline.

Morgan Stanley and Twitter declined to comment, while Musk reps did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
