"Bloomberg": Saudi Arabia is negotiating with "Boeing" And"Airbus" buy 80 aircraft

Bloomberg, citing informed sources, reported that the Saudi State Investment Fund is in talks with Boeing and Airbus E to buy about 80 aircraft.

According to Bloomberg, the State Investment Fund, known as the sovereign wealth fund, is going to buy about 40 aircraft and receive options to buy the same number.

The sources added that the requirements include narrow-body aircraft and larger wide-body models capable of flying long distances.

This is the first aircraft purchase for a new national airline.

Last year, Saudi Arabia said it would create a second national airline alongside the Saudi national carrier as part of its Vision 2030 plan to make the economy less dependent on oil, while the launch would primarily serve the capital Riyadh, which has have ambition. Bloomberg pointed out that the inquiries will indicate competition between the Boeing 737 Max and Airbus A320neo series in the short-haul category, while the choice of long-haul routes will be between the American company’s 787 Dreamliner, and the new 777X, which has not yet arrived. into service, with the European competitor “A350” and “A330neo”.

It is not yet clear whether the fleet purchase can be split between the two manufacturers.
