Pakistan’s Senior Aide Asserts Party’s Right to Form Government

Aide’s Statement

In a press conference held in Islamabad on Saturday, a senior aide to Pakistan’s incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan revealed that their political party intends to form a government following their victory in Thursday’s general election.

Call for Respect

Gohar Ali Khan, who is currently serving as the interim party chief, urged all institutions within Pakistan to honor the mandate given to their party. He emphasized that if complete results were not disclosed by Saturday night, the party would stage a peaceful protest on Sunday.

Election Outcome

Despite Imran Khan’s imprisonment and his party’s exclusion from the polls, independent candidates supported by Khan secured the highest number of seats. Both Khan and his rival, ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, have claimed victory in the elections.
