Cameroon turned from behind to win over Burkina Faso in the opening of the African Nations Cup

Yaounde: Captain Vincent Aboubacar scored two goals from two penalties when the Cameroonian hosts managed to win 2-1 over Burkina Faso in the first Africa Cup of Nations in Yaounde on Sunday. Gustavo Sanjari advanced with a goal for Burkina Faso, who missed coach Camu Malo and 6 players due to being infected with the Corona virus, to silence some 45,000 fans in the new Olympic stadium. Sangare scored the left-footed goal from close range in the 24th minute in the first stage of the group, but Burkina Faso made two mistakes by captain Bertrand Traore and defender Issoufou Daewoo, so Cameroon won two penalties before half-time. Striker Aboubacar, who was part of the Cameroon squad when he won the 2017 Nations Cup in Gabon, he kicked both in door with safety. (Reuters)
