Capcom Responds to Dragon’s Dogma 2 Criticism: Microtransactions and Performance Issues Addressed

Capcom Responds to Player Feedback on Dragon’s Dogma 2

Capcom has taken note of player feedback regarding issues with microtransactions and performance in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Despite positive pre-release reviews, the game has received a mixed reception on Steam, with only 40% of user reviews being positive out of over 9,300.

Players have raised concerns about the 21 separate DLC purchases available on the first day, with some feeling that certain items should be easier to obtain in-game rather than through paid content. Performance issues, such as crashes and freezing, have also been a point of frustration for players.

In response, Capcom issued a statement on Steam apologizing for any inconvenience and addressing player concerns. They have noted that all items available for purchase can also be obtained in-game without spending extra money. Additionally, they are investigating critical issues with crashes and freezing and plan to address them in the near future.

Regarding performance problems, Capcom explained that high CPU usage is allocated to each character, affecting the frame rate in certain situations with numerous characters. They are exploring ways to improve performance, especially in areas with high character density.

Capcom is also working on implementing a feature that will allow players to restart the game on Steam. More details will be announced soon.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the first Capcom game to be sold at $70 for the standard edition, with Capcom considering similar price points for future releases due to rising development costs in the industry. Last year, Capcom was recognized as Metacritic’s highest-rated publisher for the quality of its releases.

Overall, Capcom is committed to addressing player feedback and improving the gaming experience for Dragon’s Dogma 2 players. Stay tuned for updates on performance improvements and new features.
