Algeria: the Algerian Football Association has asked the Confederation of African football “K” to postpone the match between JS Kabylie and his host Royal Leopard from Eswatini, in program next Sunday, in the second leg of the second additional preliminary round of the Confederation Cup (Confederation of African football). Today, Monday, the Al-Khabar newspaper revealed on its website web that the request of the Algerian Federation officially arrives in response to the request of the Ministry of Health to organize the return match in program in the city of Tizi Ouzou, east of the Algerian capital, for fears of the spread of the new “Omicron” mutated by the Corona virus in Algeria, with respect to the epidemiological situation in the countries of the south of the continent, such as Eswatini. The newspaper indicated that the Algerian Federation is in expecting an answer as soon as possible to his request and quoted an informed source that “K” is about to take the decision to postpone the match, especially as the continental body has received many requests from different national associations to postpone the matches of their own club for fear of the spread of Corona’s new mutant. Interestingly, JS Kabylie lost the first leg match played on Sunday, 0-1. The Algerian national weightlifting team had canceled its participation in the African Championships to be held from 29 November to 4 December next in South Africa, due to the “Omicron” discovered in this country.
