Channel Four ties up with Star Sports, India gets broadcast rights for England Test series

London, Feb 4 (PTI) Channel Four has bought the telecast rights for the Test series between India and England starting on Friday, in an agreement with Star Sports. Test cricket will return to local TV for the first time since the Ashes series in Britain. The channel said in a statement, “Channel Four will do ‘free to air’ TV coverage of England’s Test series against India. This will be the first ‘Free to Air’ TV broadcast after the Ashes series. “Ball-by-ball coverage of all four Tests will be shown on Channel Four and All Four. Channel Four sports head Pete Andrews and sports rights head Penny Mills played a key role in materializing the deal. Andrews said, “We are happy that we will be able to broadcast Test cricket live again.” Given the recent performance of both teams, this series will be interesting.
