Charlize Theron says she’s not ashamed to remember the 1991 conflict over her parents’ family violence

Charlize Theron, actress of Atomic Blonde, 44, has been candid about her experiences with domestic violence in the past. In a conversation with NPR earlier this week, Charlize sat down with the host and shared the story of her father who drunkly fired a gun at her and her mother in 1991.

According to Page Six, Charlize claims that her father threatened them eighteen years ago. In the midst of their dispute, Charlize’s father fired three times with a firearm but could not hit it or Gerda. Theron explained that his father entered the house one evening and that he was so drunk that he couldn’t even walk.
