Chelsea win the FA Cup for five, Lukaku scores the goal

LONDON: Romelu Lukaku scored in Chelsea’s 5-1 win over Chesterfield in the FA Cup third round on Saturday, his first goal following comments that angered manager Thomas Tuchel. Lukaku scored in the 20th minute, leading Chelsea in 3-0 lead after Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi scored before him, and the European champions controlled the game at Stamford Bridge. Andreas Christensen scored 4-0 before half-time, then Hakim Ziyech scored from a penalty in the second half, before the diving team scored their only goal with Akwasi Asante. Lukaku, the author of the record of the club, was barred from Chelsea’s squad for Sunday’s Premier League draw for Liverpool after giving a televised interview three weeks earlier, saying he was dissatisfied with his role in the club and expressed his desire to return to Inter. After a clearing session with Tuchel, Lukaku is back in rose against Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup semi-final last Wednesday. (Reuters)
