Chelsea’s Win Slips Away as Everton Scores a Late Goal for a 2-2 Draw

Everton, who are facing the threat of being relegated from the English Premier League, managed to secure a draw against Chelsea thanks to a goal from substitute Ellis Sims in the 89th minute. Chelsea looked set to win after scoring two goals in the second half, with one from Joao Felix and the other from Kai Havertz, both from penalties. Even with Everton defending in a well-organized manner, Felix managed to score with a low shot near the post. However, Everton equalized through Abdoulaye Doucoure from close range following a Dwight McNeil corner, before Chelsea won another penalty after James Tarkovsky fouled Reece James, which Havertz successfully executed against Jordan Pickford. It was ultimately Sims who managed to equalize for Everton, firing a powerful shot past goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. Despite Chelsea having over 70% possession, Everton were able to hold on for the draw. (Reuters)
