China.. 36 dead in a fire in a factory in Anyang

Thirty-six people died and two more are still missing in a fire in a factory in central China, according to i media officers, citing local authorities, on Tuesday.

China’s new news agency, Xinhua, said the fire broke out “Monday afternoon in a factory in Anyang city, Henan province, central China”.

Common accidents

Interestingly, workplace accidents are common in China and are often caused by non-compliance with safety standards.

In March 2019, an explosion in a chemical plant in Yancheng, 260 kilometers from Shanghai, killed 78 people and destroyed homes in a radius of several kilometers.

In 2015, 165 people died in a huge explosion in a chemical warehouse in northern Tianjin, in one of China’s worst industrial accidents.
