China. Archaeologists have discovered a 4300-year-old sculpture of the ruler

During excavations in the city of Simao, Shaanxi Province, Chinese archaeologists found a sculpture of a man with a crown on his head. It turned out to be the largest sculpture among the sculptures found in this place.

News.artnet points out that experts believe that this large sculpture belongs to the ruler Simao and was found along with other sculptures during ongoing excavations at the base of the pyramid in the city center. The age of these sculptures is estimated at 4300 years.

Archaeologists reportedly discovered the ruins of Simao City in 1976 and until recently it was thought to belong to a small Stone Age city. But during excavations in 2018, archaeologists discovered that it was a city of 4 square kilometers, surrounded by a stone wall and defensive ditches filled with human skulls (it is believed that sacrifices were made here), and in its center was a pyramid 70 meters high, with a huge palace and water tank.
