China unveils state-of-the-art anti-ship missile

On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Navy, the Chinese military unveiled the YJ-2 hypersonic anti-ship missile.

This was reported by the South China Morning Post, which stated that the YJ-2 is a dangerous naval missile due to its long range and high speed. It can be launched both from land and from air and sea. It can also bypass the naval defense systems installed on US aircraft carriers.

The newspaper indicated that the missile is capable of hitting a target at a distance of more than 1,500 km and is launched from one of the Chinese Navy’s Project 055 destroyers.

The newspaper added that the YJ-2 will be an effective deterrent to the US Navy and will help the integration process between China and Taiwan.

It is noteworthy that earlier Russian media reported that the Russian army was manufacturing a coastal platform for the Tsirkon hypersonic sea missile. The platform will be produced on the basis of the Bastion coastal missile system.
