In the last few hours, some Afghan activists have launched a campaign on social media against the signs of repression that began to emerge in the country, weeks after the uncompromising movement of the Taliban took control.

After the movement organized a conference two days ago for some women loyal to it in the capital, Kabul, who appeared completely covered, even with their fingers, dozens of young Afghan women gathered.

And they have posted wonderful pictures of colorful clothing and the traditional Afghan dress, pointing out that this is what Afghan women have been used to wearing over the centuries, and what the Taliban try to impose is nothing more than an “exception” that will not pass.

The hashtag “Don’t touch my clothes” was also popularized to express the refusal of Afghan women to impose their dress codes by the Taliban.

This has happened in coinciding with the announcement of the movement on Sunday that it would allow women to attend universities and learn, provided that the “Islamic dress code” was respected, without specifying what it is.

It also confirmed that the quotas will be separated between women and men, preventing any mixing between the sexes.

Interestingly, the past two weeks have seen several marches of women in the capital and in other areas, in which the protesters asked to preserve the Afghan woman’s earnings and her right to work, education and to express opinions, but the Taliban killed her with bullets and whips near the presidential palace in Kabul.

Western countries fear the possibility of overthrowing the Taliban with the conquests made by women in the country in recent years, and even the European Union and the United States have called on the movement to respect women’s rights and preserve freedoms, considering that this step constitutes one of the conditions for the recognition by the West of the government that has built itself, the movement of last week, which arrived even without a female presence, but made in shadow from the leaders of the old Taliban guard.
