Cooperation between “Science and Technology” and “Atomic Energy” to achieve the goals of Saudi Arabia

Today, Wednesday, the Saudi Minister of Energy, Chairman of the King Abdullah City Board of Directors for Atomic and Renewable Energy, and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Chairman of the King Abdulaziz City Board of Directors for science and technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha, today, Wednesday, signed an agreement to achieve integration and use its capabilities and resources to achieve the Kingdom’s ambitions and goals in the fields of atomic energy and renewables.

According to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Energy, the integration between the energy system and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology represents an important step in strengthening the Kingdom’s position globally in the field of atomic and renewable energy, and as the city is the national laboratory and an affirmation of confidence in the abilities of the country’s sons and daughters in the system. energy and in the city of King Abdulaziz for science and technology to implement projects and studies in the research and technical fields related to national security, water security and radiation monitoring and develop its technologies to serve the goals of the Kingdom vision and achieve an ideal energy mix by 2030.

Under the agreement, the two sides will benefit from the research institute and research reactor and their facilities, as well as develop related operational plans to serve the national atomic energy project.

Areas of cooperation between the two sides include: building human, technical and research capacities, exchanging scientific experiences, creating training programs, workshops and conferences, as well as equipping and developing research laboratories and laboratories, and providing consultancy for serving the fields of atomic and renewable energy, including the national atomic energy project and renewable energy projects.

The city will also develop research content and disciplines related to the fields of atomic and renewable energy and will exchange information and statistical data to carry out joint research and projects in this field.

The signing of the agreement was attended by the president of King Abdulaziz City for science and technology, Dr. Munir bin Mahmoud Al-Desouki, King Abdullah City President for Atomic and Renewable Energy, Dr. Khaled bin Saleh Al-Sultan and some officials of the two cities.
