The National Medical Research Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics announced the creation of a material that can be used in all operations that require compensation for bone loss and filling cavities in the bones and spine.
A source at the National Medical Research Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics (Ilizarov Center) of the Russian Ministry of Health indicates that the center’s specialists have created a unique prosthetic material that can be used to eliminate bone defects.
He says: “A team of experts and physicians from the center’s tissue culture and blood transfusion department has created a unique OsteolitTM material that can be used to repair bone defects. It is officially registered as a medical material that can be used in all orthopedic, vertebral, suppurative surgeries where required fill the lack of bone mass, fill the cavities in the bones and spine.
