DC’s Most Notorious Villain Now a Children’s Cereal Brand Spokesperson

Darkseid, one of the DC Universe’s greatest villains, has joined the ranks of Lucky the Leprechaun and the Trix Rabbit as a cereal icon on a cover for Danger Street #6. The comic, written by Tom King and illustrated by Jorge Fornés, is part of the DC Black Label imprint, which is responsible for adult-oriented books. King drew inspiration from the Broadway musical Into the Woods to create Danger Street, which stars the characters of 1st Issue Special, a 1970s series. In 2023, King will also be writing The Penguin alongside artist Stefano Gaudianio, and is one of several creators contributing to the relaunch of Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Danger Street #6, featuring variant cover artwork by Evan “Doc” Shaner, will be available on May 9th from DC Comics.
