Death toll in The collapse of the condominium in Florida rises to 27, research resumes after site demolition

Rescuers are starting to search again for survivors of the Champlain Towers South Condominium in Surfside, Florida, after building was demolished in a controlled explosion on Sunday evening.

Previously, local authorities have told residents in the surroundings area take refuge in place as well as closing everything windows, doors and air taken. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said the shelter-in-place order raises two hours after demolition is complete. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, during a news briefing early Saturday, he said the state will pay for at all costs of the demolition.

The death the toll has risen to 27 people how of Monday, with 118 still missing after the part of the condominium collapsed on June 24.
