He’s a Beatles, baby, not a loser this time. In a new video using deepfake technology, what appears to be a young man, much younger than today version of Paul McCartney is seen dancing through a hotel corridor and other scenes. In the end, in a nerve-wracking scene, Young McCartney pulls off a mask to reveal himself as the singer Beck. Turns out it was all a video for Find my way, a song by the two musicians on McCartney III Imagined remix album.

Deepfakes are always creepy, and this is it one, showing a McCartney in his twenties or thirties when the … real the singer is 79 years old, it could be more disturbing to most. The video is gone live on Youtube on June 22 and in one day, it was seen more of 2 million times.

“The Paolo is dead the crew will absolutely freak out about it, “he said one YouTube commentator, referring of run to the urban legend that claims McCartney is dead in 1966 and was replaced by a look-alike. McCartney himself even joked about the rumor by naming a 1993 album Paul Is Live.

Another YouTube viewer said, “It was weird to watch a young McCartney in a modern context like That.”

Deepfake use artificial intelligence to make it appear that a person is doing or saying things that he has not done or said, such as with these Tom Cruise’s deepfakes. They are often very well made and could be used for spreading false information, even if this one in particular was just for entertainment value and McCartney obviously was in on the concept. In fact, McCartney himself shared the video on Instagram, with the caption, “Over back in time and on the dance floor. “

In addition to Beck, the album features famous faces remixing songs from 2020 album McCartney III, the former The Beatles 18th solo album. Artists in first floor on the album includes Idris Elba, Phoebe Bridgers, Josh Homme and St. Vincent.
