Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak finds himself in legal difficulty

Chhapaak by Meghna Gulzar is probably one of the most ambitious projects of recent times. From the punchy intrigue to the incredible transformation of Deepika Padukone, there is obviously a lot in the film to excite the audience. However, while the film crew is handling promotions, legal action has been brought against them in the Bombay High Court.

The case was brought up by Rakesh Bharti, who claims to have written the script for an acid attack survivor and is now claiming credit in the film. The writer claims that he originally conceived the idea for the story and called it Black Day. He even registered the same thing with the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA) in February 2015. Bharti also sent an official complaint to the producers of the film but a lack of response forced him to go to court . The writer approached another professional to compare his scenario with Chhapaak.

Speaking of the film, Chhapaak is based on the life of the survivor of an Laxmi Agarwal acid attack. Besides Deepika Padukone, the film will also see Vikrant Massey playing a pivotal role. The film is scheduled for release on January 10.
