Delhi Capitals apply for BCCI for COVID-19 vaccination of their Indian players

A DC source told PTI that vaccination could begin with the Indian players as the players enter the bio-safe bubble for the IPL next week.

“We have spoken to the BCCI, which is in turn in talks with the Union Department of Health, particularly now that the Olympic athletes are receiving / will be receiving the vaccine,” a DC source said.

“The overseas players may not get the nod … they have initiated talks and so the Indian players can get started,” he added.

The source said the DC players will step into the bio-safe bubble on Tuesday. “So, DC players, whatever is available, will begin quarantine on Tuesday. As of now, there will be seven days of tough quarantine before training begins in Mumbai.”

He said the BCCI has not yet shared the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) regarding security measures in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
