The American pharmaceutical company Pfizer forced the Indian government to pass a clause on its legal protection in case of side effects when using a coronavirus vaccine.
India’s Minister of State for Technology and Electronics, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, tweeted: “I want to remind you that Pfizer tried to intimidate the Indian government into accepting a compensation clause as a condition for supplying a Covid-19 vaccine. .”

The minister said top opposition leaders were pressuring the government led by Narendra Modi to buy foreign-made vaccines during the coronavirus pandemic instead of choosing domestic ones.
