In Destiny 2’s Season of Dawn, players fought to save the legendary Titan Saint-14 from the aftermath of time. Players have successfully completed the mission in the past two weeks and Saint-14 is back in the tower to which he belongs. But players discovered that something very stupid happens when you approach Saint-14 with certain equipment.
Saint-14 is best known for its helmet, the exotic Saint-14 helmet that players used in the original Destiny. It was a fan’s favorite helmet even before the players knew anything about the man (or EXO in this case) who once wore it. A few years ago, the Saint-14 Exotic helmet made it back to Destiny 2. And now, in 2019, when you walk into the tower hangar with his helmet, Saint laughs at how similar you two look.
If you stand next to Saint-14 wearing the Saint-14 helmet, he will laugh at you and say, “You look like me, let’s confuse Zavala.” Commander Zavala is the captain of the Vanguard – leader of the tower and one Role that Saint-14 invented himself. The moment is sweet and hard to smile for long-time titanium players, especially with Saint’s booming Greek-inspired accent.
OKAY! FAIRYTALE HOUR!
I want to talk about the excitement we felt when we saw fans responding to that particular line on day 1 of Saint-14 in the tower
– Kareem (@Shadetooth), December 21, 2019
According to the designer, however, this line was not easy to implement. Kareem Shuman, Technical Dialogue Designer at Destiny 2, posted the line’s story on Twitter. In the thread (which you can see above), Kareem goes over how close the border has come to be cut and how a small team of designers took it on to make it happen.
The line has thrilled long-time Destiny fans since the end of last week. If you want to hear it yourself – like us – all you have to do is log into a Titan, put on the Saint-14 Exotic helmet, climb down the tower hangar and wait for Saint to break the joke about the helmet. It has a few different lines at idle, so you may have to wait a moment or two before hearing the joke.
