There have been Diablo 2 server issues tonight
Diablo 2 Resurrected servers are down again tonight following an earlier maintenance period.
At the time, Blizzard confirmed that they needed to perform maintenance, telling fans: “Servers should be available again in all regions. We will continue to monitor performance. We’ve also applied a fix that should help unlock characters and will continue to review for any we’ve missed.”
This was followed by another message from Rod Fergusson, who confirmed that the popularity of Diablo 2 was generating its own issues.
“We’ve had tons of players online, which is great but has been a challenge for servers surpassing our testing,” Fergusson posted today.
“We know many players are still affected, so we’re actively adding capacity and will keep on this until it’s in a better place. This may involve more restarts as well.”
And following such a positive launch, it appears that tonight’s continuing server issues could be connected with the number of gamers trying to play at the same time.
More news is expected to be shared by Blizzard if numbers of reports continue to pick up concerning connectivity issues.
As many have pointed out, tonight’s server issues are also leaving some unable to access characters or seeing progress reset.
It’s unclear if these issues will be resolved with progress returned or if the character resets will remain permanent.
