Diddy to Receive “Salute to Industry Icons” at the 2020 Grammy Awards

# Roommates, Diddy has many reasons to celebrate these days. After hosting a lavish star-studded 50th birthday party attended by a host of celebrities, he can now prepare to receive a highly distinguished honor at the upcoming 2020 Grammy Awards.

When it comes to iconic music industry careers, few are as impressive as Diddy. From a former label intern to a three-time Grammy-winning artist, producer and founder of Bad Boy Records, he was one of the pioneers of his time. Now @Billboard reports that it is about to be honored at the 2020 Grammy Awards by being the recipient of the “Salute To Industry Icons” award which will be presented to it at the annual pre-Grammy party on January 25.

In addition to winning Grammys, Diddy also made an impression on music charts, which is just another example of why he was chosen for such a prestigious honor. His Bad Boy label had at least 70 albums on the Billboard 200 and more than 100 songs on the Hot 100 during his premium. His empire also includes clothing, drinks, philanthropic works, political activism, film and television. As an artist, Diddy has five numbers one on the Billboard Hot 100 and 15 Top 10 on the same graph.

Speaking of Grammy recognition, Diddy had this to say:

“Clive Davis and Arista Records gave me a chance when I started Bad Boy Records, he was one of the first industry leaders to really believe in me. I am eternally grateful to him. To be honored at this year’s pre-Grammy gala and to receive the industry icon award is truly a blessing. ”

Clive Davis, co-host of the pre-Grammy gala, highly appreciated Diddy in a statement:

“It is personally so rewarding that Sean ‘Puffy’ Combs is this year’s icon. He fully deserves this wonderful recognition. From his innovative and creative contributions from the very beginning of the hip hop revolution, to his many memorable appearances at the Pre-Grammy Gala as a speaker and performer, everything is over. I couldn’t be happier for Sean as a dear friend and colleague. “
