Dissident Ahmad Masoud: a school online for Afghan women in response to the Taliban

The late Afghan leader Ahmed Shah Massoud’s charitable foundation announced the launch of a school online to allow Afghan girls to complete their studies.

The leader of the Resistance Front, Ahmed Masoud, son of the late leader Ahmed Shah Massoud, said: “We have launched a school online to counter the Taliban-imposed blanket ban on women’s education.”

Opposition leader Massoud launched the hashtag: “Every house is a school”.

The Afghan Taliban banned university education for women on Wednesday.

She returned on Saturday to ban women from working in local and foreign NGOs.

These decisions have drawn international condemnation of the Taliban movement and its stance on women.
