After his story filled i social media and Sudanese circles, in following his appearance a few weeks ago driving his own auto in reverse, in the famous “Van Diesel” fashion, the Khartoum Traffic Criminal Court sentenced the perpetrator of the unusual violation to two months of prison and the withdrawal of the license for (10) years.

In detail, the judge of the Khartoum Traffic Criminal Court issued a two-month prison sentence and ten-year driving license withdrawal on Thursday, after being convicted of violating the highway code in Sudan, according to the police press office.

Interestingly, the defendant was driving his own auto in the back, at a very reckless speed, on the public via of Nile Street, Khartoum.

Police said he was driving his own vehicle in this way, and that they arrested him in the act of driving the vehicle backwards in the opposite direction to the movement of vehicles on a busy street.

It described the driver’s behavior as reckless and thoughtless and regarded it as a disruption to normal traffic and a violation of basic traffic rules, which poses a serious danger to road users and the vehicle driver himself.

Police said they had taken the necessary legal steps against the infringer, which is one of the rare precedents of traffic violations in Sudan.
