Home Comics Comic News EXCLUSIVE: A Major Spider-Man Villain Is Merging Marvel’s Multiverse Into a Single World
A CBR exclusive preview of Dan Slott and Mark Bagley’s Spider-Man #6 sees a major foe try to turn the Marvel multiverse into a single world.
The following contains spoilers for Spider-Man #6, on sale now from Marvel.
Shathra is attempting to merge the entire Marvel multiverse into a single world in a CBR exclusive preview of Spider-Man #6.
Spider-Man #6 comes from writer Dan Slott, penciler Mark Bagley, inker John Dell, colorist Edgar Delgado and letterers VC’s Joe Caramagna and Travis Lanham. In the series so far, Shathra has been infecting the Spider-Verse’s greatest heroes — including Spider-Man Noir, Ghost-Spider and more — and forcing them to become part of her hive. Having erased Spider-Woman/Jessica Drew and Peter Parker/Spider-Man from the Web of Life, the villain is now moving forward with her plan to bring an end to the Spider-Verse in Spider-Man #6.

While Earth-616’s Peter may no longer exist within the multiverse, Spider-Man #4 introduced a different version of the beloved character. The following issue shed new details on this version of Peter and indicated he has a close relationship with Silk while also revealing he comes from a universe where Ben Parker is still alive.
Spider-Man’s Big Twist and Upcoming Power-Up
Slott previously teased that Spider-Man #7, which releases April 5, 2023, includes a massive Spider-Verse twist. He tweeted on Feb. 4, 2023, “Don’t often pull this card out. When I do, it’s always paid off. Like when I gave a heads up to retailers they might want to order more of ASM #698. Not going to say why, but you might want to go to your comic shop and reserve a copy of SPIDER-MAN #7 w/ *this* cover. Trust me.”
Following Spider-Man #7 and the “End of the Spider-Verse” storyline, Spider-Man will receive a massive superpower upgrade in Spider-Man #8, which releases in May 2023. The synopsis for the issue reads, “Spider-Man has changed. His powers are super-charged, enabling him to be the best Spider-Man he can be…but can his all-too-human body take it? A classic Spider-Villain is back and doesn’t care if Spidey has his hands full.”
Spider-Man #6 features cover art by Bagley and Delgado and variant cover art by Carlos Gómez and Jesus Aburtov. The issue releases March 1, 2023, from Marvel.
