Dolly Parton: 50 years on the edge of NBC

NBC brings Dolly Parton back to the show, just in time for the holidays. If you missed her special birthday at the Grand Ole Opry, where she was honored for 50 years, you can now watch it on NBC. The special program “Dolly Parton: 50 Years at the Opry” launches the NBC program for the holidays and will be broadcast on November 26, 2019 from 9pm. ET-11 am ET. The show will feature performances by Dolly and will include past interviews as well as guest musicians honoring Dolly.

Dolly Parton has issued a statement regarding the show.

“I’m excited to celebrate my 50th birthday with Grand Ole Opry,” said Parton. “I am also delighted that NBC wants to share this event with me. Together, we hope to entertain a wider audience on what is Grand Ole Opry and what it means to me. We have special treats, surprises and great performances from talented artists and I look forward to sharing them with you. “

NBC and Dolly Parton have a long and successful history and for many years, the network has been broadcasting original cinematic programming centered on Dolly’s life and music. This year’s celebration of 50 years as a member of the Grand Ole Opry is a perfect fit for the network and Dolly fans are eager to see the program.

The films of Dolly Parton, Coat of Many Colors and Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, have been huge successes and have multiplied. Dolly Parton’s music has touched, blessed and inspired generations and many generations to come. She is the godmother of Miley Cyrus and one of Miley’s most viral videos is her cover of Dolly’s song “Jolene”.
