Stars and Scrubs is the name of our DraftKings Cash Game for the NFL Wild Card Weekend. The playoffs provide us with only short-range DFS contests, so for those of you playing cash games, it’s still the key to finding a way to distinguish more intentional than usual. Some of the names below are similar to tournament games, but they allow us to get three of the safest players on the plate in our turn, and this is the most important cash issue.
Mating Drew Brees-Michael Thomas is extremely high and high on Sunday in the NFC, while we Derrick Henry and DeAndre Hopkins go out of the AFC to have three of the best players in the series. Add a very underrated Sony Michel and this composition should work fine.
NFL DFS Wild Card Weekend: DraftKings Game Options
QB Drew Brees, Saints vs. Vikings ($ 6,600). Brees feels like the definition of a cash strategist game, and the Vikings don’t scare me away from him here. Its value is fair and coupling with Thomas feels very low risk.
RB Derrick Henry, Titans @ Patriots ($ 8,200). Henry may be smaller than he should be due to defensive pairing, but he (along with Dalvin Cook) provides the best opportunity in the 20 slate deals.
RB Sony Michel, Patriots vs. Titans ($ 4,600). Of course the Patriots could turn things around as they occasionally do and go away from Michel, but his workload under the stretch shows that the Pats know how important it is to get to the playoffs. Its low pricing is weird and needs to be exploited.
WR Michael Thomas, Saints v. Vikings ($ 9,300). DraftKings’ PPR rating makes Thomas even more powerful than it would be on other sites, so you can’t fade him out here in cash games without having many choices.
WR Greg Ward Jr., Eagles vs. Seahawks ($ 5,300). Ward, like Thomas, benefits from the DK PPR rating as Carson Wentz continues to see his way down the tracks. Seattle’s defense is no longer frightening.
WR Deontay Burnett vs. Eagles Seahawks ($ 3,100). This option is risky, but you do not go through a small plate like this without any risk. Burnett saw four goals in Week 17 and should continue to see enough activity for Philly to hit a few passes again.
TE Dawson Knox, Accounts @ Texans ($ 2,900). Knox has been my favorite of the entire season, as his value never reflects the tight end of Buffalo. Houston can also be vulnerable to secondary education.
FLEX DeAndre Hopkins, Texans vs. Accounts ($ 7,700). The Tre’Davious White matchup is right to be intimidated, but Deshaun Watson will deal with his top receiver regardless of the matchup and Hopkins is good enough to deliver.
D / ST Tennessee Titans @ Patriots ($ 2,400). On an unattractive D / ST plate, getting one of the lower price options makes sense. And even though we’ve pushed Michel against them, the Titans have a solid enough secondary to restrain Tom Brady.
