Vikings vs. Packers is the last Monday Night Football game of the season, so this is the last time you can book your week with our DraftKings Showdown tips after your Sunday picks are likely to go away. Minnesota’s RB injuries create some uncertainty in a game where we would like to think we know how the players will play. Many veterans often lead to unexpected tips for the NFL DFS.
Our attempt here is to catch a slightly underrated Adam Thielen as our commander. That leaves room for both Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Jones to jump while jumping on the Mike Boone bandwagon while there is still room.
MORE MNF: Alexander Mattison
DraftKings Drafts: Vikings vs. Packers
CAPTAIN (1.5x points, 1.5x price): WR Adam Thielen, Vikings ($ 12,900)
Thielen is the lowest price of any of what you would call “nails” of this game. It makes sense – he’s only one week removed from returning from injury, and had only three catches on that return. But he’s a talented receiver who, if he had a game like many who had last year or even early this season, could return tremendous value.
FLEX: RB Aaron Jones, Packers ($ 10,800)
You could choose to overtake Green Bay from the Vikings’ front seven on that one, but Jones gets very solid touches and gets the yardage piece to avoid it. The other route you could take, if you chose, is to find a way to fit in with Davvan Adams or Kirk Cousins. Jones balances our turn a little more so that we can touch different aspects of the game.
FLEX: QB Aaron Rodgers, Packers ($ 10,400)
Rodgers is underestimated statistically more often than not these days. But he is still Rodgers, and playing with Jones we hope to be part of every Green Bay touchdown.
FLEX: RB Mike Boone, Vikings ($ 9,000)
If Alexander Mattison is a surprisingly active one, it might be the game at this point. But Mattison should go out, which will let Boone get a 15-plus carry against a weak Green Bay defense, and there might be some people who stay away from Boone for the most part.
FLEX: TE Jimmy Graham, Packers ($ 3,200)
This is mostly a touchdown-dependent game, but we know that Rodgers will look at Graham’s way in the end zone, so it’s a better bet than any other Green Bay TE.
FLEX: TE Irv Smith Jr., Vikings ($ 3,000)
Smith is very close to racing for a player who does not catch a ton of catches. But he is a sports recruit who will make the games if given the opportunity and is more likely to break a long shot than you would normally think of for a guy named TE.
