What is the Plot of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’?
The alien Sorbet, leader of the remnants of Frieza’s army, travels to Earth, where the Pilaf gang is forced to collect and use magical Dragon Balls to summon the eternal dragon Shenron wishing to revive Frieza. However, since Frieza was killed when Future Trunks cut him with his sword, he was revived in so many pieces that Sorbet’s minions could reassemble using their advanced technology. Once he regains command of his forces, Frieza abuses some of his minions and plots revenge against the Super Saiyans. When Frieza learns that Goku has become stronger over time, he postpones the invasion until he can train himself for the first time.
The Galactic Patrolman, Jaco, arrives on Earth to alert Bulma that Frieza is on his way. Having greatly increased his strength due to his training, Frieza overpowers the warriors. Still, Bulma manages to make contact with Whis, notifying Goku and Vegeta of Frieza to return. The Saiyans return to Earth, save their allies, and encounter Frieza while Whis and Beerus watch. Goku battles Frieza first and quickly obtains the upper hand. Still, the latter suspects he is holding back, so the two opponents agree to fight with full power. Frieza takes his new gold-plated form, Golden Frieza. At the same time, Goku changes into the new Super Saiyan Divine form with dazzling blue hair and aura (later dubbed Super Saiyan Blue). Although Frieza initially has the upper hand, Goku quickly understands that Frieza’s energy is diminishing due to his inexperience with the golden figure.
Ultimately, Goku overpowers Frieza in battle and gives him a chance to leave Earth, but he is blasted in the chest by a sorbet gun when his guard is taken down. Standing over a helpless Goku, Frieza offers Vegeta a chance to kill him to become his second-in-command. Vegeta refuses, turns into Super Saiyan Blue, and attacks Frieza. When Krillin tries to revive Goku with Senzu’s healing pills, Frieza attacks him. Still, Vegeta deviates from the energy blast that then kills Sorbet. Vegeta dominates the humiliated Frieza and unleashes a sudden energy explosion on Earth, destroying it and thus killing Vegeta. Goku, Beerus, and the others are protected by Whis and left floating in space on a small piece of land where they lament the loss. Whis notes that he can reverse time for up to three minutes. After doing so, Goku kills Frieza with a Kamehameha wave, Much wrath of Vegeta.
In the aftermath, Goku and Vegeta discuss Whis’ assertion that if the two learn to work together correctly, opponents like Frieza will be defeated more easily. Vegeta taunts and points out that he’d rather die, and Goku humorously agrees. Vegeta indicates that it is time for them to agree on something finally. In a post-credits scene, Frieza returns to Hell, welcoming the return of his dread.
