In a parallel universe, Goku dies of viral heart disease three years after fighting Frieza and King Cold. Because Goku died of natural causes, he can no longer be resurrected by the Dragon Balls. Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin, Tien Shinhan, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu are slain by Android 17 and 18 six months later. With Piccolo’s death, Earth’s guardian, Kami, also dies, and the Dragon Balls are rendered forever worthless, making it impossible to be resurrected.

Thirteen years later, the androids are terrorizing the world. At the same time, Gohan, the only survivor of the battle, tries in vain to stop them.
