Saint Ace Drew Brees said Peyton Manning’s recording of most touchdown passes in NFL history was an “incredible moment”.
Brees shut down Manning after posting his 541st TD career pass in a complete Satan 34-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Monday.
The Saints fighter, who entered the game with 537 TD passes, also set the record for completing an NFL game with a 96.7% performance at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Brees went 29 of 30 for 307 yards and four touchdowns as the 40-year-old Super Bowl champion and the MVP reflected on his record night.

“It was special – all for tonight,” Brees told reporters. “I don’t know how they get ‘Monday Night Football’, we play the Colts, a team that won the Super Bowl 10 years ago.
“The whole Super Bowl XLIV team is back for the 10th anniversary, and obviously national television, great play and this record in balance, just makes you shake your head.

“It just makes your career flicker in front of your eyes, I never thought I’d have the opportunity to participate in it. Looking at the whole journey, 19 years out of five years in San Diego in 14 years here … incredible teammates and coaches, this team here, of course our fanbase, my loved ones, my family, my kids, just an incredible night, experience and time. “
“I wouldn’t be here without [coach] Sean [Payton],” Brees said. “The time we had together, the experiences we had. From the beginning, what was built here as much as the foundation and the culture.
“[General Manager] Micky Lummy, two of the most integral parts of the organization and certainly the reason I’m here, I’ll always be indebted to these guys.
Brees made history by passing five yards to teammate Josh Hill in the third quarter as the Saints improved to 11-3 for the season on Monday.
“I like the fact that he was Josh Hill, quite oddly he was the honorable captain this week for the team, which means we bake him at our meeting on Saturday,” Brees added. “So he was very good himself. Here is a free agent starting in 2013, which is the epitome of a great teammate, a forgotten hero and a man who did the dirty work.
“… I have so much confidence and confidence in him, the minute we step up to the ball and look, I definitely thought about the touchdown, he just played the way we thought until the play-call and the open. I’m really happy that he was “
