The Ministry of Health and Population in Egypt has announced the update of the requirements and controls for entry into Egyptian territory through the quarantine departments of airports, seaports and land crossings.
He explained that this comes in light of developments in the epidemiological situation of the Corona virus globally, which helps to facilitate procedures for citizens and expatriates, while preserving the achievements of the Egyptian state in the face of the pandemic.
According to a statement, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, revealed that the application of the new procedures will take place starting on Saturday 22 January, indicating that these procedures required that those who went to the country, be they Egyptians or non-Egyptians, obtain any of the coronavirus vaccines, approved by the World Health Organization or the Egyptian Medicines Authority.
It must be 14 days after vaccination with the second dose, for two-dose vaccines, or at least 14 days after vaccination with the vaccines intended for a single dose, before reaching Egyptian territory.
AND in absence of a certificate certifying the receipt of the vaccine, it is required that the coming to the country is in possession of a certificate stating that it is negative for Corona virus, with any of the tests approved by the Ministry of Health and Population within 72 hours before reaching the Egyptian ports of entry, provided that children under the age of 12 “.
He said the work of conducting analyzes for people from countries (South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Lesotho, Zimbabwe and Swatini) has been suspended.
For his part, the Head of the Preventive Medicine Sector at the Ministry of Health and Population, Amr Kandil, indicated that in the case in if the vaccination certificate or the examination certificate carried by the passenger does not comply with the established controls, the Rapid Antigen Test is conducted to detect the Corona virus, and in case of positive test for non-Egyptians, the laboratory test is confirmed with the test ID NOW.
As for those arriving through tourist airports, it is required that the arrival be in possession of a certificate of vaccination against the Corona virus – according to the conditions established in this regard – e in lack of a certificate certifying receipt of the vaccine, it is required that he possess a certificate attesting that the examination is negative for Corona virus from any of the test approved by the Ministry of Health and Population, according to the conditions established in this regard.
In case in if the vaccination certificate or the examination certificate carried by the passenger does not comply with the required checks, the Antigen Rapid Test is conducted to detect the Corona virus.
“Kandil” explained, that in in the case of a positive examination, arrivals can self-isolate for a period of five days in the hotel residence, with PCR examination carried out on the sixth day, and in the case in there are no symptoms of disease, and the PCR result is negative, they may terminate the isolation, but if they are The result is positive, the isolation continues for another five days, then the isolation is stopped without the need for a another exam.
