Egyptian exports of made-up garments jump 40% to $ 2 billion in one year

Recent official data revealed that Egypt’s exports of made-up garments saw a notable increase at the end of last year.

According to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics in Egypt, the total export value of made-up apparel and related accessories amounted to about $ 2.029 billion, compared to about $ 1.450 billion at the end of the previous year 2020, an increase of about $ 579 million, equivalent to an increase of about $ 40 billion. %.

The Statistical Authority indicated that packaged clothing exports were on the list of the most important Egyptian exports of finished goods, with a total value of about $ 20.181 billion in 2021, compared to about $ 13.838 billion in 2020, an increase of about $ 6.343 billion, an increase of about 45.8%.

In total, Egypt’s total exports increased at the end of last year to about $ 43.637 billion, compared to about $ 29.323 billion a year earlier 2020, an increase of about $ 14.314 billion, an increase of about 48.8%.

The Statistical Authority attributed the increase in Egyptian exports to an increase in exports of fuels, which amounted to $ 11.892 billion in 2021, compared to about $ 4.831 billion in 2020, an increase of $ 7.061 billion, followed by the exports of raw cotton, which recorded approximately $ 221 million in 2021, compared to $ 164 million a year before 2020, an increase of $ 57 million.
