Emaar Properties CEO arrested in India

A spokesperson for UAE real estate firm Emaar said on Saturday that the company is aware of reports from media on the detention of the CEO of the Amit Jain group in India.

“Emaar is aware of the news regarding the CEO of the Amit Jain group, in a matter relating to the company’s business in India. The matter has now been resolved and at the moment we have no further comments, “the company spokesperson added.

Indian news agency ANI reported that Jane was arrested on Friday upon arrival at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and handed over to local police.It was unclear why she was being held, according to Reuters.

Emaar is the largest listed real estate development company in Dubai. The Dubai government holds a minority stake in the company, which is developing the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, through its sovereign wealth fund.
