Emma Stone, the talented actress who recently clinched a Golden Globe for her role in “Poor Things,” has disclosed a lifelong aspiration to participate in the iconic quiz show “Jeopardy!” Her desire, however, goes beyond merely gracing the celebrity version of the program, currently hosted by Ken Jennings after Mayim Bialik’s departure.
In the traditional format of “Jeopardy!,” three contestants engage in intellectual combat, striving to accumulate cash by correctly responding to a diverse array of clues spanning various subjects. As devoted fans of the long-running syndicated show are aware, contestants must frame their responses in the form of a question.
Stone, 35, expressed her steadfast commitment to earning a spot on the regular edition of “Jeopardy!” despite several unsuccessful attempts. In an interview with Variety’s Awards Circuit Podcast, she revealed, “I apply every June. I don’t want to go on Celebrity Jeopardy!. I want to earn my stripes.” Stone diligently takes the Jeopardy! Anytime Test, available on the show’s official website, annually. This test comprises 50 clues, each requiring a response within 15 seconds, providing a preliminary assessment of a contestant’s suitability for the televised competition.
Displaying her keen interest in the show, Stone shared, “I watch it every single night and I mark down how many answers I get right. I swear, I could go on Jeopardy!”
While her aspirations to appear on the show remain unfulfilled, Emma Stone continues to enjoy success in her acting career. The recent Golden Globe winner is not only nominated for the upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards but is also anticipated to be a prominent name when the Academy Award nominations are unveiled. Despite the challenges of her Jeopardy! pursuit, Stone’s star continues to shine brightly in the world of entertainment.
