Claudia Winkleman Goes Bare-Faced After Eye Surgery

Claudia Winkleman shocked fans as she unveiled a bare-faced look, ditching her iconic eyeliner for eye surgery that aimed to correct her vision. Known for her signature dramatic eye make-up, the Strictly Come Dancing host took to social media to share the experience, expressing her gratitude toward her doctor.

At 53, Claudia explained that she’ll be without make-up for the next few weeks during her recovery. Typically never seen without her eyeliner, it was a big decision for her to go bare-faced. BBC make-up artist Debbie Dannell revealed that Claudia usually relies on Victoria Beckham Beauty’s Satin Kajal Liner for her striking looks on the show.

Claudia, now in recovery, shared a candid photo of herself alongside her doctor, wearing a simple grey T-shirt. She thanked him wholeheartedly, saying, “This amazing human makes me see.” Reflecting on her experience, she humorously noted, “No eyeliner for weeks and I sleep in goggles (no words) but I’m eternally grateful.”

Despite loving her signature look, Claudia once called eyeliner the “worst beauty trend” she ever tried. In an interview with Marie Claire, she recalled her teenage misstep involving white eyeliner on the inner eye and heavy lip liner, admitting, “I think I looked repellent.”

Now, she embraces a more refined style, saying, “I’ve got very bad eyesight, but as long as I have orange face, black eyes, white mouth, then we’re alright. Panda.” It’s clear that her journey with make-up has been anything but ordinary.
