Coleen Nolan’s Heartbreak After Losing Sister to Cancer

Coleen Nolan, a key figure on ITV’s Loose Women, has faced unimaginable heartache this year with the loss of her sister, Linda Nolan. The 65-year-old bravely battled cancer for over two decades, initially diagnosed with breast cancer that went into remission. Unfortunately, the disease returned as secondary breast cancer in 2017, leading to a devastating spread to her hip, pelvis, and ultimately her brain by 2023.

Linda’s passing, attributed to pneumonia, came as a shock. Coleen shared how quickly everything deteriorated, causing her to lose her passion for life. Taking a necessary break from her responsibilities as a panellist, she leaned on her daughter Ciara, who stepped up to manage their home and farm during this trying time.

Coleen fondly remembered her sister’s resilienc“Linda had cancer for 20 years and was so positive. I got to a point where I thought she’d outlive us all. Then, when it happened, it happened so quickly.” An emotional Coleen revealed to OK! Magazine that the aftermath left her feeling overwhelmed, barely able to leave her bed.

Her children, closely by her side, offered relentless support while respecting her need for solitude. “Ciara took control of everything and everyone that came ’round,” she recounted. “If I said yes to something, she’d swoop in and say, ‘No, Mum’s not ready for that.’”

Linda departed this world on January 15 at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, not long after the loss of their sister Bernie Nolan in 2013.

In a heartfelt statement, her agent Dermot McNamara expressed deep sadnes“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Nolan, a celebrated Irish pop legend, television personality, and West End star. She passed at around 10:10 am, surrounded by her loving siblings, who ensured she felt embraced and comforted during her final moments.”

Linda’s remarkable journey in music and entertainment was not just about fame. She emerged as a beacon of hope and resilience, inspiring many with her story of survival. “Her legacy extends well beyond her incredible achievements,” McNamara added. “Rest in peace, Linda. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.”
